Down the forest path to the beach

The waves of the Atlantic Ocean at your feet. A roof of pine trees as shelter from the sun. With this, your holidays in the south of France cannot fail. And at Campéole Le Vivier campsite in the coastal region of the Landes-Aquitaine you will find it all. A footpath takes you straight to the beach to laze or splash about in the surf. The strong waves here make it an ideal surfing location. Real swimming is best done on the campsite itself. The large swimming pool offers entertainment for everyone. Here you can swim laps, take a fitness class or hang out by the jetty and splash in the water. The campsite's location in the forest means you can always find a shady spot. Trees enough for your hammock!

Rough sea, calm inland

Camping Campéole Le Vivier is located in southwest France in the Landes-Aquitaine region. This region is known for its vast pine forests, its many lakes and its location on the Atlantic Ocean. The sea can be quite rough here. So you have to be careful before entering the water. The high waves make this region very popular with surfers, the centre of which is Biscarrosse-Plage, close to the campsite.
You can hire surfboards at the campsite. You can also take a surfing course at the campsite. The region is fairly flat. This makes it great for cycling. There are many cycling and walking routes from the campsite. About 5 kilometres inland from the campsite is Lake Cazaux-Sanguinet. Here you will find fine beaches and calm swimming water.

Fun around the pool

You can spend a whole day at the campsite. At the heart of Campéole Le Vivier campsite is the swimming pool. Here you will also find the playground and the sports fields. Your children can have a great time on the large inflatables. While you work on your fitness. During the summer months, you can take part in all kinds of sports tournaments and events. In the evening, there are concerts, shows, karaoke, discos. Children are also catered for. They can play, cook, do crafts, act and dance.

Pilat dune and more in the area

Outside the campsite, there is a world to discover. Drive 15 kilometres north and you are at the Pilat dune. Climbing this highest dune in Europe (100 metres) will make you sweat a lot on a summer's day. The view from the top over sand, sea and forests is well worth the effort. A little further north is the port city of Arcachon. From here you can take a foot ferry to Cap Ferret. This luxury seaside resort is located at the tip of the long peninsula off Arcachon Bay.

Oysters or wine? Have a taste!

Of course, you can also drive around the Bay of Arcachon by car. Here you have a nice view of the many oyster farms. On your trip, you will pass characteristic fishing villages with fish restaurants everywhere.
A little to the east, you get a completely different view of France. Then you end up in the hilly wine region around Bordeaux. Wine lovers love to visit one of the many wine chateaus here. The city of Bordeaux itself is a fine destination for a cultural day in between.
